This is a cute little cozy Japanese restaurant tucked away on Convoy Street. Food is delicious and authentic. We came here on a weekday and had a 10-15 minutes wait, but it was so worth it. We were seated fairly quickly and the staff was attentive. Staff was also busy taking sake shot offered by the customers- a recognized way to show gratitude to your server/bartender instead of tipping. It was my first time witnessing it and I loved it. Food was delicious. Highly recommend chirashi don and okonomiyaki! Will definitely come again!

Izakaya Sakura San Diego, California We were both craving Japanese Curry so we decided to go to one of our favorite Japanese Restaurants, Izakaya Sakura. The fish is always fresh and the curry is very flavorful. The staff members are great. There is a bit of a wait but they are always busy and you have to wait for delicious food. 1. The quality of the food is great. It's a small authentic place and it's always very very busy so service may be slow. The staff is all very friendly though! I'm very picky with sashimi and this place has really good salmon. It doesn't taste watered down, but rather, very flavorful and rich.
